Mijas has several monuments of interest to visit, such as the tiny irregularly-shaped bullring. The village also boasts two Madrujar churches and the interesting shrine of La Virgen de la Pena, the village’s patron saint. Another monument is the church of the Immaculate Conception. Finally, from almost anywhere in the village, El Puerto can be seen standing on a higher level, transport to which is provided by the traditional donkey-taxis.
