Course Information Despite the first class rating this club is actually open every day to green paying guests. At certain times of the year Valderrama is partly or wholly closed, even to members, but the general care, improvements and high maintenance of this course make the wait very worthwhile.
The secret of playing here is to position the ball correctly. A drive of 250 yards will be worthless if it lands on the wrong side of the opening through to the green. There are trees every where. They have been left in places where most other clubs would have felled them. The giant cork in the middle of the second fairway is a prime example. As most of the trees have been around almost 150 years the course has been adapted to them, not the other way round.
